It’s not abnormal to think of rainy weather synonymously with looking like a drowned, frizzy rodent. We’ve all had our unfortunate days getting stuck in a sudden downpour that flooded our ballet flats, drenched our white blouses, and completely destroyed all our hard morning work. However, if you keep abreast of the inclement weather reports and stock up on some rainy day goodies, you’ll be sitting pretty and staying dry.
The first thing to be utterly ruined in wet or humid weather is your pretty little hair ‘do. Even the sleekest of hair products won’t be able to save you from a midday deluge, so bite the bullet and go shopping for the perfect tam. Dress it up with some flashy, dangly earrings, and you’ll be rainproof and easy breezy. And don’t settle for flooded shoes – find a tall, dressy pair of rubber rain boots that can double as workplace attire. Most designers are really beginning to embrace the fair-weather boot, which is impervious to water, but fashionably fits into your everyday wardrobe. Some companies are even designing these boots with tweed trims – making them incredibly appropriate for professional business.
You’ll also want to find a rain-resistant trench, and not one made of cashmere or cloth. Go for something with a chic sheen, and check to make sure the coat is lined inside to keep you warm and cozy on those cold days. It’s always best to go a bit longer in the length, as it will help to keep more of you covered from the wet. And don a perfect little light scarf, billowed and tucked into the top of your trench. This will help to keep those pesky little drops from escaping down your shirt, and will keep your neck dry and toasty. You won’t have to tell the rain to come again another day anymore!
