When I found this bag I thought that I had FINALLY found me a pink set that might be worth something (I also own a VERY cheap pink set I bought a few years ago). Well I just received it in the mail and was super excited to see what I had gotten. Not so excited when I opened it. First off this set is a DARK pink almost purplish color. I’ve included some pics but its hard to tell the color difference. I have my purple mouse next to it as well as the light pink Gerber 31-000438 Pink Splice Mini Scissors Keychain Tool and Knife Set I also just received.

BAG
Bag seems durable but the bottom is soft and doesn’t really have any kind of support so I’m sure it will become thin and wear out easily. I do like that it has LOTS of pockets both inside and out BUT the ones inside are all short and wide so don’t really hold any of the tools that came with the bag very well.

TOOLS-PACKAGING
The tools came in a card board box inside of the bag. They were not wrapped or separated in any manner so looks as though they rubbed on each other and some have markings on them now.

BITS
The bits come in handy rubber holders. Be prepared to not be able to read the sizes and shapes on them though. They are marked with a white paint of some sort and half of mine arrived distorted. A slight rub of the finger nail over the paint confirmed that it comes off easily. Luckily I really don’t need the sizes but wish it would have been made with a better material.

PLIERS
Both sets of pliers seem cheaply made. Lots of imperfections. I will include some photos as it is hard to describe in words.

HAMMER
Heavy weight and seems as though it will do the trick. One note, the pink is not the same color as the other tools, its brighter. Not that it is a big deal but just wanted to give all the info.

ALLEN WRENCHES
The only complaint I have on this one is that the size 3/16 wrench does not fit in the space and is EXTREMELY lose. If it weren’t for the larger sizes hovering over it it would fall out. Not sure if the wrench size is wrong or the holder size, sure hope its the holder.

SCREWDRIVERS
All seems well with them.

TAPE MEASURE
By far my favorite thing in the bag. I LOVE the self locking feature and there are two convenient buttons to release it. Seems sturdy. Only wish it was 25′ instead but knew I was getting a 16′

Overall, for a cheap around the house set I would recommend it, anything more then that I’m not sure it would withstand. I work in Supply and keep finding the need for tools so finally bought a set. I hope this set will withstand my moderate work. With all the tool products The Original Pink Box sells I was hoping for a better quality item. Hopefully one day Craftsman will come out with a pink set or Snap-On will re-release their pink tools.

NOTE: I will be keeping this set but only because it is too much of a hassle to return it from Iraq.

UPDATE 3/15/2013:
I still have this set and while the bag is still intact this mostly sits on a shelf in my laundry room now. The bag has lost its support but still closes so that is a plus. I do use the tape measure still and no problems. The small screwdrivers became distorted on the ends so don’t use them anymore. The regular set of pliers works pretty good but the needle nose don’t make contact when closed all the way. Overall I would still give this set a 3 star rating because I think the quality could have been a little better. You do get what you pay for though and at 30 bucks its not a bad deal.
